when i entered the car, you said you had sth to give to me. and since you've been giving me my (loooooong overdue) london gifts one at a time, i thought it was THE ONE which i've been wanting to see the most..! haha but from your cute lil bag, you took out a gift wrapped in plastic foil......it. was. The Little BLACK BOOK of STYLE by Nina Garcia! it was last year right after my exams when i said i wanted to get it but becos it was sold out in most of the bookstores except borders (at which it was sold for 30 plus, 40), i kinda gave up getting the book. moreover, i just bought The ONE HUNDRED. you even offered to buy it from borders, i remember...but i told you not to cos i'd probably get it when i felt richer. haha...the holidays came and now school's started...so many events have taken place that my want for the book has been almost fully buried until you showed me the surprise gift! thank you so much for remembering and even more for bothering to order the book online. i really love the surprise!!! i'm going to keep it in mint condition!

hongkong: food and shopping paradise, INDEED!

back from my short hongkong trip! =) it was one which allowed my family, together with 2 uncles and their families, to spend time together while enjoying the local delicacies. well, of course it's HONGKONG! so other than savouring the super yummy dim sum, shopping was a MUST-DO over there plssss...from tsim sha tsui to central to mongkok to causeway bay and even to citygate, we walked in and out of h&m, coach, zara, club21, giordano concepts, agnes b, muji, uniqlo, and even the interesting little shops in langham place, etc, etc, etc...

everyday's itenarary was..dim sum brunch with family, followed by my lil sis and i gg separate ways from our parents to start our day-shopping, and then back to the hotel at 5-6pm to put down our bags of stuff, rest a little by watching some fashiontv and nat geo. at around 7, we'd meet our parents to have a good dinner and thereafter, night-shopping till the shops closed! amazingggg...but tiring! for the 4 nights, i actually slept before midnight...

i LOVE this coach store! the exterior design of it is absolutely stunning! haha..my sister admiring the christmas decor..seems like it, at least.one of my favourite purchases!!! how cute and pretty is this telephone!! ahem...it CAN BE USED. i use it to make my daily calls to clar that's why it's on my desk....hahaha!super satisfied with my purchases! i even found the ipanema design which isn't sold in spore!! was soooo happy to see them in hk..! yeah. those neon yellow sandals...hahaa
ok, doesn't seem like i bought alot alot cos i spent most of my money on ermm, those coach shoes(which i've always wanted) and a couple of stuff not to be mentioned :)

can't wait for my next shopping trip...! shall avoid shopping for the next few........................weeks? hahahaha days will sound toooo short, months will sound toooo long. so ya, i shall just stick with WEEKS. hahahaha! =)))))))))))))

finally got my hands on this book! it was just sth i HAD TO buy..!! wanted to get her previous book: the little black book of style but it's no longer available..so sad!!! maybe i shld order that on amazon or sth...

now that clar's back, we continue food-hunting around s'pore, esp the more uluu or exotic places when he's the car :)

had dinner at cafe le caire @ Al Majlis...where they specialise in middle-eastern cuisine. It's an Arabian themed restaurant located in the Kampong Glam area. To be more specific, it's along Arab St..

Amazingly, the restaurant complex stretches over 33, 37 and 39 Arab Street as well as 4, 6 and 8 Haji Lane and it consists of different sections with different ambience to cater to the preferences of customers. There is the informal relaxed original setting, the open air concept, the quaint Haji Lane, the sofa lounge area, the air-conditioned upstairs dining room and the Al Majlis room in which people chill and smoke sheesha (quite cool)...and so, of cos, we chose the fine dining area.haha...

our spread as shown above..lots of lamb..Ba’mia which is okra and lamb stew with rice (his order), shish kebab, which is just cubes of lamb pieces, with potato wedges (mine), and a feta cheese omelette the both of us shared. looks quite like turkish food cos of all the lamb but ya, somehow, the spices used made the meat taste different (not in a bad way)...well, both of us enjoyed the Arabian food very much!

while taking a short stroll after dinner...he wanted me to take our shadowsss...! it was quite funny cos the first pic we took showed no shadow AT ALL as we used strong flash..yaa..felt like we were some ghosts or sth..so tried with soft flash and it was slightly better...then finally without any flash..our shadows appeared. alrite, how silly.

let's just take a photo of our facesss.........hmm but i've no idea where i was looking then. hahaha...

arab st was a good choice...at least we avoided the crazy crowd in town and the long queues outside restaurants which serve ordinary boring food. it was also a good break away from my horrible horrible therapeutic notes. happppppyyyyyy! :DDDDD

it was a long night..a very very long night i must say. no, i think it's better to describe yesterday as the longest day EVER.

first, i got up at 1110am..sounds late huh, in fact, yes, i was not in time for my first lecture which i didn't even intend to go for as it's not very useful ( a total waste of time). and so i thought i'd try to use the time to probably study for my coming test on tues. but...nope, my mind was just somewhere else..thinking..thinking..maybe imagining will sound more right. i was imagining how long and dreadful the next 5 weeks would be without clarwu as he'd be away in london for training. my mind was just occupied with that no matter how much i tried to distract myself..maybe cos my notes were far too boring. but still......it was just stuck in my head..and the feeling was terrible.

FINALLY, it was 5 in the evening, and i decided to drop by vivo to get a little gift for him before heading to the airport. i thought it would serve as a good distraction..spend some money and get high on shopping. Retail therapy? Lousy. Everything looked so uninteresting! But well, somehow i found a black tie with mini checkers from zara..formal with a fancy touch. i love it! haha..i hope you do too =) after zara, i knew what i wanted to get next..his fav "twix" for his long flight there..actually, it's TWIRL (he enjoys acting dory-ishly..dory's the fish in nemo that suffers from short term memory loss).

THEN it was time to leave for the airport. the train ride was torturously long and when i reached CHANGI AIRPORT after forever, i immediately felt the grossness of it. the freezing air, sounds caused by the luggage's rolling wheels, crowds of youngsters looking excited to see their friends off, while some were looking at the screen to check the flight details...blah blah..in all, the airport gives me a depressing feeling even if i'm going on a holiday. ewww. the feeling was almost overwhelming, so much so that i felt like taking a train back home. but fortunately, yiping came to accompany me and it helped so much. she's so funny..she lightened the mood and stopped all the imagination which i had earlier. thanks so much for taking time to "see him off" haha.. and so everything turned out good. clar came to join us for a drink and we still talked and joked as normal..no emo rubbish at all. haha...

1050pm! it's the moment of truth..hahaha...alrite, he had to go in and come out of there only after 5 weeks. but all of us sent him off with a smile. yayy! even i thought it was such an unbelievable outcome. amazing. not that i wanted to be crying and sink into depression..but it just seemed easier than i IMAGINED it to be. of cos, i wasn't like, yayy!-happy abt him leaving but i'd think that i felt much better when the actual farewell took place as compared to the imaginary farewell.

i guess it's the power of the mind...really. no doubt that the truth hurts (As everyone knows), but i think (bad) imagination kills.

BUT 1 per day is still not gg to occupy me for the 36 days!! we've counted..i need....20 pieces more..not the kisses plsss. alrite, maybe staring at that lovely container will be good.it is coming..my tests are approaching..urgh, could i fast forward to my 1 week break...my class dinner..fun and laughter..sentosa..

it's coming to the end of my attachment at A*STAR..sooon sooon.....just fri left.
so effectively, today was my last day carrying a hello! paper bag with my water bottle, tonnes of notes, and my lunchbox, and my black guess bag containing my logbook, umbrella, hp earpieces, jurong island and astar passes, etc..walking along the pavement from the interchange back home under the evening sun at 6:05pm! and amazingly, i enjoyed the walk very much..i think today was the only time i was so into my thoughts that i forgot about the amount of carbon monoxide around me.

i was just looking at the birds in the sky, the grass around me, the bird on the grass patch pecking away..ok, sounds damn drama..but i really was! and i realised that today all these look beautiful to me..for once, i was not thinking about how i could rush home to seek shelter from the evening sun and hide myself from the harmful carbon monoxide. instead, i was feeling thankful for many many many things in my life..the people around me...

this week, being my last week at work, has been very busy cos my ntu prof will be visiting astar on fri (tmr) to collect my report and logbook. AND i've only started on these last wed? plus, my datasets were all over the place..i don't even remember which folders they're in..or what those data i've saved meant. i was so afraid that i wouldn't be able to complete all the updates in the logbook and my report in time. if not, maybe i'd have to stay up late every night..! but noo, the Lord has been seeing me through all that this week. i even got to go out yesterday for a good meal with clar. i'm still typing this blog entry..and have been watching tv everyday this week..also, i've been sleeping earlier than usual! with His wonders, everything seems to be in place...and i'm loving it!

on top of that, i've got a really good supervisor who has been helping me alot since i started my IO. even for my IO report, he puts in extra time to edit and go through the drafts with me section by section. today he took half-day leave BUT being so responsible and caring, he told me to email him my final draft by tonight so that he could look through it and if necessary, he'll take the liberty to edit my report and produce the final version! i'm amazed!

besides being so blessed at work, i've got a great mom who has been waking up in the morning to pack my breakfast and sometimes even prepare lunch in a lunchbox, fills my water bottle and pack all these into the hello!paper bag for me. every morning, i just grab the paper bag, say thank you and goodbye, and rush off to work (as i'm always just on time). it may seem as though i've been taking her for granted but in fact, i love my mom and really appreciate what she's been doing for me every morning. =)
and of cos, i am thankful for my family who's been always there for me, for my dad who always makes sure that we live well, and well-provided for, well-protected.

not forgetting, clarence who always gives me morning smses to ask 'how's it going'..haha...those smses may not be the long and mushy kind..but it's the thought that counts as everyone always says...it's nice and comforting(especially during stressful times) to know that you're on someone's mind. it's that sweet..

so, anyway, my thoughts...wrapped in a sentence- I am so blessed.
sounds so simple....it is! it is that simple..it doesn't take much to know you're blessed...but somehow, in this worldly world, we're just too caught up with the worldly issues, we tend to think like worldly people - complicated. is there a need for that, when it actually causes worries, stress, and at the end, emptiness? why not be more aware of what's been given to you, enjoy the benefits, and simply count your blessings.

right..servings were HUGE and great-tasting. i think it's worth it cos quality and quantity(definitely) guaranteed! a HUGE thank you to pops for paying for the dinner. i know the cost was HUGE too. hahaaa BIG thank you to tayapi for planning such a pleasant surprise! i really thought it was just a catching up session with you guys. and ya, your acting skills are good..you actually looked like you were gg to puke from eating all that pizza! also to jane and anshu, thanks for taking time out to celebrate my bday. it was a very enjoyable dinner even though i know, y'all (i meant jane and yiping) were so tired from all the boring research at A-star. and to anshu, thanks for always adding fun and laughter to all our dinners..great to have met up with you this hol.

my bday at Astar ICES. omgoshh..it was very different cos my friends (zhixiong and jiahui) celebrated it with me at the only cafe(or shld i just say, canteen) in the building. AND zhixiong, being the ever-creative guy, full of original ideas(and crappy jokes), he got a slice of chocolate cake from the coffee club and LESS-THAN-HALF a bottle of CHARDONNAY. hahaha it was what he used to cook our pasta lunch a few days before. but i must say, it was really nice of him to "plan" all that, esp when we've only been friends for 3 weeks plus. i guess it's our level of crappiness...haha..oh ya, and he made me pose with the empty box and bottle!

to make things worse, he said he booked tunglok (the chinese restaurant). like, hellooo...tunglok dim sum for dinner??!?!? and that day, i just had that for lunch..! so i HAD TO say NOOO...i can't eat that again...we've got to go to town or somewhere. well, guess what he said..he just replied, huhhh~~~and he still went to turn into vivo..at that point, i was like, whatever...
making it part of his act, he turned wrongly into the taxi stand instead of the carpark..! and he went, AIYAA...
i just stared at him.
then he laughed at me for believing his soo-believable story! and threw a piece A4 paper onto my lap. it was a receipt. he.booked.sky.dining.dinner.in.the.cable.car.
that's something i've never ever wanted to do! i'm totally bothered by the toilet issues..what if i've got to shit/pee/even worse, LS?????? but he's alr booked and paid for it.
so yeah..i gave it a chance.
well, it wasn't as bad as i thought. in fact, i enjoyed it very much. thank you sooo much! i had lotsa fun during that 90 mins in the cable car.
it was a friday evening! i was the organiser. and i just wanted a dinner with the gipeeps, just for fun cos i wanted to eat at liangkee...i was happy enough just by meetin up with them but being so sweet, clar got kelly to buy a cake and he made it bday dinner for me. thank you once again =)
but urghh...what's new, whenever a surprise is planned with the gipeeps, it's no longer a surprise. haha...anyway, thanks to all for the attempted surprise!
and i thought the ice cream cake from island creamery was really pretty! thanks, kelly! being the usual chillers, dylan clar and i decided to head to fashion bar for some drinks. kelly had sth on so it was only the 3 of us.2 cosmos and a carlsberg please...hahaha dylan was all crazy abt sex and the city. so that explains our cosmopolitans...my babes! those who have never forgotten my bday =) thanks girls!

it's difficult to blog so often especially when i'm doing my attachment..cos at work, i'm facing the computer for hours..and when i get back, i'm still facing the com (mainly to chat since it's not allowed at work)..hmm..that didn't sound very right. i mean, yes, i still switch on my com when i come back home. but i don't stay online long enough to blog and upload pics. yeah..the uploading of pics is the time-consuming factor.
anyway, just thought of updating the blog since i've nothing much to do now..till church.

so as mentioned, i'm currently doing my attachment at jurong island! omgosh, jurong island..somewhere i'll never ever choose to work at.(but i had no choice this time...) and it's research work at astar...again, something i'll never ever choose to do. well, since it's not interesting at all, i shall skip that topic.
moving on....

i'm so glad that i've still been meeting up with all my friends despite the attachment. i thought my life would get boring once work starts. but no, i think my life's still filled with excitement..! hahaha....it's impossible to talk about every gathering i've had since i came back from vietnam (fyi, i started work 3-4 days after coming back). shall just post pics since outings are all abt taking pictures while bonding! won't that make the walk down memory lane more effective..? =)

VIETNAM trip with clarence

it's been ages since i last logged into blogger....well, at least i've been updating my facebook (but of cos)..hahaha!
where shall i start...vietnam trip? as usual, PICTURES.

reunification palace..some museum-like place that shows the history of erm..vietnam?a view from the top floor of elios hotelour first dinner in ho chi minh city..at the well-known lemongrass (vietnamese cuisine)some street pics taken from inside a taxi..cos clar said it's dangerous to take out the camera along the streets2nd day: lunch at a french restaurant- augustin the beautiful opera houseLV building! according to dylan, LV was first to "attack" vietnam...i wonder why..had sushi at the sushi bar..it was surprisingly goodeat sushi the vietnamese way!taking silly pics..cos the tv prog were boring.so much to pack as we were leavin g for nha trang the very nx day! we're both so messyyygolden trains brought us to nha trang! clar was really excited as you can see

it was a long 10-hr train ride...but it was worth it! cos when the sun was up, the scenery outside was lovely...it gave a very simple, peaceful kinda feeling..and of cos, the thing which made it most worth it was....NHA TRANG.our first dinner in nha trang- SEAFOOD!

followed by pool and supper back at the hotelwe actually went swimming at noon! super hot! haha...just to tan..headed to ana mandara resort for a splurge! it's the most expensive hotel at nha trang..a very classy yet romantic place.felt like i was dining at indochinejust hours before checking out, we rushed to the pool right after breakfast! haha..sounds cheapo..but we really wanted to swim..after checking out, we still went to the salon for manicure and foot massage..haha..
well, we had to kill time as our boarding time for the train was in the evening!on the way back to ho chi minh..another 10 hours on the train..and from ho chi minh, we flew back via TIGER...it's an airline i don't like...there was actually a flight delayyyy...and to make things worse, the airport was so small, there wasn't much to shop for..at least, there was a nice surprise awaiting us at the s'pore budget terminal..hahathanks for doing this lovely artwork, tayapi!

A day spent at vivo's corduroy cafe again =)

this time we studied...at least an hour...!

food was still as yummy...had a ham quiche each, shared a potato salad which had little cubes of apple in it, a scone each, a coffee each and last but definitely not least, a chocolate eclair (shared)..

we were so bored with that 1 hr of studying..that we had to take some photos cos yiping was alr dozing off...hahaha..can you tell how INTENSIVE that 1hr was..lol

after that, we walked around to shop..her shopping theme was accessories. but in e end, she only ended up with a pair of golden hoops from F21..cos she realised that accessories were a waste of money. AGREED. true that they may enhance your look by distracting the attention of others..haha..or probably make a plain outfit look nicer but i guess make up can do better wonders than that......not gg to see you on fri.....till we meet on mon...i'll miss you. hahaha

just read jillian's msg on facebook...and she's been obsessed with shopping again. haha..but of course, she's in LONDON!! felt so envious of her after reading her msg...
she said, "i went to this designer sample sale, like a warehouse and racks and racks of clothes...damn fun!! and also the london fashion weekend... so ex lah the things.. and the spring show catwalk... woah, feel like some damn up fashionista..."
i want to go tooooo! even if i don't buy a thing, i'll be super happy to experience london fashion weekend and watch the spring show catwalk..omgosh! the nearest i could get to all that was a screen away..(yes, on tv!!)

oh she added that "This season's look is all about nice pastel colours, no red lips and smoky eyes... and use less eyeliner according to the advisers"...

16th dec'07: celebrated kai's 21st..and her biggest surprise was to see jillian back in singapore!
haha..jillian was so funny...she tried to pose as a jap lady who'd lost her way in the estate, wearing her gardener's hat and shades (at night).
24th dec: xmas celebration with my girls. it was supposedly a red AND green party..but jillian didn't follow the dress code..tsk tsk.
26th dec: ktv 2 with gipeeps
31st dec: new year dinner with my family at lawry's
23rd jan: met up with norman and nicholas at vivocity for dinner..they've never failed to make me laugh. haha..always funny to me. and thanks to norman, our driver for that night..your car's cute.
25th jan: met up with siqi, sue and jinny for korean food then chilled at starbucks..we talked abt many many things..hmm...some were weird topics but interesting. just some things to think abt. and i couldn't help but notice balaclava which was just opp starbucks...those pple were super happening!! and the music seemed good.
26th jan: celebrated clar's bday at sushi kikuzawa where he had sushi buffet...even looking at him eat made me very full. the different kinds of sushi were freshly prepared on the spot by the jap chef and continuously served to him..i wasn't able to stuff so much into my stomach that night, so i just had a bowl of chirashi. good.
then we went over to liang seah street to have popcorn and drinks. =)
28th jan: surprised clarence with the help of kelly, yiping, jane and liangyu. Thanks alot pple =)
Despite their busy schedule, they took time out to celebrate his bday in sch..and the surprise was a success! Esp to yiping and kelly, thanks soo much!
30th jan: i can't stop playing 'keep your hands off my girl' by good charlotte on itunes and youtube. i like the way joel madden 'sings' it..and he's got a certain charm. AND i like joel madden and nicole richie. they look really nice together-he's sweet and she's funny. haha...this is so random.

met jinny yesterday for brunch at new york new york...at 1130am! hahaha...surprisingly we could meet at such a time..haha..but well, no choice!! cos she had stuff later in the day and she being as busy as ever will be packed for the nx week...haha...so yes, we made it at 1130am! it's like attending 2nd service punctually...woahh..
anyway, we had superbowl...ok in the pics, the bowls don't look v super..haha..but they were quite big for soup la..the bread they served tasted v good...with sunflower seeds in them..not bad!
while slowly enjoying our only dish...haha..we talked alot abt...hm...mainly r/s matters...really interesting to know that girls have many many common thoughts abt such stuff..like, what we can or cannot stand..some things were funny too..haha...
anyway, jinny, i enjoyed talking to you v much too! (over superbowl)...and yes, the water babies thing is still in my head..i don't know why! i just thought that it was funny to know that jelly-like balls are water babies..plus how your tuition kid's sci is so good that he had to apply it to his water babies and KILL them! hahaha....looking forward to our nx chatting session!! yayy!

taiwan/hk

MNG in taiwan...it was so difficult to find a brand that i recognise...and finally in 101 i saw MNG..i had to pose with it..hahawhile lynnie shi wanted CK.....hmm...

after 3 days in taiwan, we flew over to hk...i was really glad to leave taiwan cos i didn't like the place...it was too messy and difficult to shop over there cos firstly, it's all winterwear. plus, the fashion's really different too as we all know..and at the malls, are only the expensive stuff...
hk was much better in terms of shopping! and at least there were rather clean and proper toilets around (they're v impt to me!! haha..in case ya know...) of cos, FOOD WAS GREAT!!!
I had to eat at sweet dynasty once we arrived and checked in.
the top two pics are just a few pics from sweet dynasty...the super yummylicious prawn chee cheong fun and pig's liver congee! the liver's really fresh and not the powdery kind...nice!the bottom pics were taken from a stall at fa yuen street...they sell all the roasted meat...GOOOD! soy sauce chicken rice and the roast goose rice...don't they look super yummy!!
i'm gg to miss all that food...till the nx time i visit hk again =)

he was telling me that life is exciting...he's really different, having grown so much as a christian...when he said exciting, it wasn't abt fun life with all the partying...he was talking abt the christian life, seeing pple come to God and experiencing His love and miracles..
he wasn't like this last time...he's been totally transformed..and i know it.
whenever i talk to him, i feel amazed by how positive he is about everything and his faith in God. there is more to life than just what we face in our daily lives..so why do we worry so much and think that everything we're gg through's so tough. life's not like that...even in church, we're taught that it isn't..we're just too over-occupied with ourselves.

went with clar to shop for our dear friend's bday gift but couldn't find anything suitable.....=((
soo tired after walking up and down in my 3" wedges..plus the train was so crowded durin peak hr...and so i told clar to stop me from wearing my high heels for a period...haha...

anyway! while i was walking back home (in slight pain due to blisters and backache)....i heard a voice calling my name "FIONA!" hahhaha...it was NICHOLAS TAN! hahaha....what a surprise la...great surprise...cos i've not seen him or talked to him or even msned him in ages....when i saw him i was just like, omgosh...! haha...i think i stood still for 2 secs until he told me to go over to where he was...yikes come to think of it, i looked retarded!! so silly...!! hahaha
he was actually opp my place eating duck porridge...ya...it reminded me of the times when both of us would go to that coffeeshop to eat after sch...he'd eat porridge while i ate rice..and we would talk and talk and talk...
it was years ago....and now we've grown, looking more mature, we're both busy with our own stuff, mixing with diff friends, etc...but i'm glad that when we meet up/ talk, the feeling's still the same...it hasn't changed...
hmm..and so maybe close friends do last....even though situations have changed...at least for this case i think, i hope....=D

my pops and mom are back frm shanghai....! and i didn't even know until they woke me up this morning....i thought they were coming back on sun...hahaha...but one sad thing....i can't have a whole big bed to myself alr!!! oh, tt's cos when they were away i "shifted" to their room and slept on their bed every night...plus, messed the room quite a bit..etc etc etc...

anyway! my mom bought a triangel.....it's pink and purple and gold....sooo pretty!
oh yes...yesterday was the last day of sch before fall break! clar and i agreed to 'groom' ourselves...hahaha....
had dinner at some jap place in raffles city...place was small but the food was yummylicious...esp the sashimi...! and i caught a few shots of clar the pig...!the evening/ night was well-spent...shopping, eating, watching chuck n larry...

happy 21st, pam!
it was nice seeing most of us from 03S64 gathering at her place to celebrate her 21st birthday with many many of her other friends...hahaha...oh yes, thanks jinster for helping us take our class photo!! =)

caught hairspray with clar last night and it was goooood! i want to get the soundtrack cd!! haha...you'll just want to move and grooooove along with the cast, i'm serious! you don't have to be super smart to be the coolest kid in town...all you need to know is dance....detention room is every cool kid's fav hangout...wish i were there....hahahaha
and of cos, there's a (slightly)serious part to the show...abt racial discrimination and how tracy(the lead actress) bravely stood up to fight for integration instead of segregation.all i can say now is....go catch the show!!!!!!

yikes! fri passed so fast! huhh...it's sat alr........infact, it's sun! =((

had dinner with my family at ju ju hokaido hotpot...it was alrite....not fantastically good...but their starter was yummy! golden egg don't know what la...check out pics of that below...
the golden egg....it's semi-boiled....soo..inside isn't exactly fully cooked....looks bouncy right...oooooo~~we're supposed to cut it in the middle and pour the soy sauce into the egg...had a hotpot each....dessert was nice too! home-made vanilla ice cream with nuts and sth...i don't know what that orange thing was...went over to ps' tcc to meet vee, jinny and jenny(jinny's sis)...our conversations were serious yet funny at times...haha...i love talking to them! sighh...! vee's leaving on mon morning =(( so sooon...but i feel happy for her too..she gets to go back to atl....i heart atl! hahaa...okok it's over for me and i'm in sg...but if i were her, i'd be really excited abt gg back becos.....sung's there!! hahaha....the only bad thing is that loooong flight to US...oh well, you'll have fun, vee! back into the arms of love...as you said the last time...=)

fri FINALLY came!! the week seemed soo long even though there was national day hol....1st week of sch hasn't been v interesting....i couldn't wait for fri to come cos it's go-out day...ahahaha...

guess what! hahaha....clar has always wanted to do sth out of the world...so we went to raffles city's donut factory to join the crazy queue...we stood for 2 and a half hours!! madnessss....to make it more worthwhile, we ordered 3 dozens..hahaha....and later, rewarded ourselves w a good meal at din tai feng...=)

had a gip bbq at agnes' on mon...sooo happy to see most of the gipeeps there...but js the special guest wasn't there!! he owes us soo many outings....anyway, had a great time w everyone!

all the girls there...(huiting, dawn, me, yiping, agnes, hannah and beverly)some of the guys who were there....(pr, raymond, jon, clar and dylan)malibu girls (me, yiping and huiting)....hahaha...erm...with kelly and paul(extras) and......dylan(super extra)....the real bbq-er is paul! hahaha....jl is the assnt...yiping and i acting busy... hahaha....yiping always acting helpful....

yeahh....it's better seeing her with a choc cake...(it's really baked by her from scratch...!)BUT when nbs guys take over to bbq.....there's a fire....they act as if they're doing sth great..act cool.....and in e end the food is black.

miss HU...it's her bday!!
had dinner at central mall's sun and moon...but poor thing..she only could eat appetizers cos she just extracted 4 wisdom teeth...haha...and that's also why angel had to do her pose(cover-the-cheeks-pose)...FULL ATTENDANCE!after dinner, she seemed quite sian...hahaha...cos there wasn't any pandan cake from bengawan solo which she told sue to buy...and following that, jillian and i said we had to leave early...yayy! we succeeded in making her DAMN SIAN. while the rest of them headed towards clinic(supposedly)...jillian and i sat by the river, thinking that we'll go there later with the cake...BUT as always, they changed their minds and turned back to buy ice cream...!! it was quite funny how we panicked with our backs facing them, hoping that vee wouldn't recognise us...hahahaha....so when vee was busy looking at the menu, both of us quickly grabbed all the bags we had and went to find a pub...yeap, change of plan again...

there we were...still happily taking pics by the river...while couples were making out in front of us..hahaa...and that green thing behind us....was the place where they went to buy their ice cream!finally found a nice, quiet cuban pub...cuba libre...and we got them to sing a birthday song for vivienne!! hahaha...they were alr playing crap music just to buy time and she still had to go throw some rubbish ...! hahaha but it was good that she was surprised and didn't suspect anything....HAPPY BDAY VIVIENNE!!there at the back, was shan wee from eye for a guy 2...vee and her bengawan solo pandan cake....jinster and i...against the beautiful cuban deco...that pic is so cool...it's not that the camera shook...the pic is drawn with 2 lines...let's do the birthday girl's pose!

today's dinner was goooood!! clar and i wanted to go to somewhere different...and thanks to google....hahaa....we found hakata nihon ryori at mohd sultan. it's a rather authentic jap restaurant and food was yummy!....we were really hungry so both of us ordered a set meal each which included chawanmushi which was prepared with generous portions of ingredients and orange peel....and that was the only chawanmushi that clar said was nice(so fussy)....
we ordered:
pig liver with beansprouts (teppanyaki)
clar's set meal: sashimi set which had squid, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, swordfishmine: unagi setya..and while i was eating, clar did his fav thing....he made me look like a glutton..
took a walk around mohd sultan, clarke quay and then ended up at boat quay...so we just decided to have a drink at indochine...
an appletini and a hoegarden...

before mambo-ing ...went to watch invisible target with clar..surprisingly, it was not bad...quite nice in fact (to me..)haha...outside zouk...sue and i were just taking pics in front of all those "cool(act)" pple walking towards the club..
then came jinny and her friend...hey vee! really sorry for making you wait by yourself in mac's that night...here you go, your 5 min of fame...! =)siqi,sue,me and vee...where are the other girls huh......like...jillian-the one who got us to go cos she said vee will be leaving for US soon.....HAHA...see la, didn't go....still said you like appearing on my blog!! hahahaa.... no more partying...so not fun! we're out of da club!!

happy bday jinster! full attendance by us-her Hwa Chong friends...hahaha..that's what she calls us!anyway, we all had a great time, really! somehow, we were all entertained the whole night...clearly demonstrated by dylan and vivienne...hahaha!! these two are such funny people..our post-USA pic....with xingru as background...hahahaha...obviously he was forced by kaihui to do that "tree-pose"..hahaha poor thing and i was entertained by xingru...he tricked me into believing that he was gg to drop my dear camera!! yeahh...and i believed him, that's how i got myself in this mess....cos i actually sacrificed the cake i was eating to save my camera!....hahaha it was funny though..=)gift and card presentation...from all of us.....hope you love the stuff, jinny baby!!

did sth different today...

went to kai's place for vcd session..watched fullhouse with kai,sue and vee. hahaha...fullhouse is very funny....!

anyway, kai's mom prepared lunch for us which was really nice of her...she made home-made cream of mushroom and spicy spaghetti with prawns and herbs..? whatever it is, food was good! after the main course...we had strawberries, cherries and grapes, followed by chips chips chips and kahlua with chocolate milk/ coffee....hahaha...sounds so tai-tai-ish..we like!!!

while they(kai and vee) were preparing our coffee w kahlua, sue and i were enjoying fullhouse...haha

we were really engrossed.....

when irritating characters like huiyuan and those two "friends" of hanzhien appeared....we did retarded tai-tai-ish poses...hahaha. in the first pic from the top left, we were trying to look at that pooch vee's carrying and control ourselves from laughing for seconds! and in the bottom right pic, someone suggested doing a super tai tai pose...and we had to make our necks look as long as we could...looking proud and all...hahaha!!!

ta-daaa!!! the birthday girl...! hahahaa..my mom la! went to pasta fresca for dinner cos she was craving for seafood spaghetti...the only kind that isn't too cheezy for her..started with seafood broth,2 cream of mushroom..followed by a seafood pizza and then seafood spaghetti and penne with crabmeat in white wine and tomato sauce...

for just my dad, my mom and me, it was more than enough..super full!

had dinner with my family, andrew and clar on the actual day of my mom's bday at fullerton...i didn't manage to take any pics of the food or what because.....they were too fast at clearing and serving the nx dish as the food was served to each individual...REGRETSSSSS!

anyway, i think my mommy enjoyed and was happy to see everyone at the dinner =) HAPPY BDAY!

13th jul: back to spore!

12th jul: woke up superrrr hungry! so we decided to go to wellington street again but to eat the famous roasted goose my mom told us abt...the restaurant was 4 levels high and it was packed!we ordered the goose, fish maw soup and a plate of garoupa belly with rice.after eating so much, we headed to THE PEAK.... a dessert which we ate twice a day everyday....from xu liu shan! (hui lau shan) MANGO-MANIA!!temple st in e day....our last meal in hk...it was a feast! roasted chicken, poached spinach with garlic in broth, egg custard with seafood in pumpkin...
11th jul: the day started off with brunch at some dim sum place along wellington street. the place itself is out-of-the-world because most of the customers go there so often to just sit around and yum cha....and the place was so crowded that we had to share a table with 3 other men...2 of them talked alot alot...

as we had no idea how to speak canto and couldn't understand the 'food terms', we just tried any dish that looked normal....so we ended with 2 rice dishes...and one of the old men was laughing at us for eating so much rice! sighhh...they commented on everything....even on the way the chef cooked some dishes. for eg, there was this dish which had salted egg in it and acc to them, the dish was salty enough so they told the waitress that the chef should just use normal chicken eggs, plus salted eggs are more expensive...!

nx, one lady dropped a dollar coin and she went around looking for it...then one of the old men was saying that it's only a dollar, is there a need to look for it and pick it up???? so the other man replied, "rolling stone!" and he laughed...

imagine if i took out my camera to take pics of the food which they eat so often.....that's why i decided not to...! instead, we quickly ate whatever we could and left...hahaha

started our "trekking" on the mid-levels escalators...hahaha. it was tiring alrite!! we went right up to the top...

the police station that is always shown in hk drama serials....

at causeway bay...this super tall crane collapsed and killed a few men....tsk tsk...it was on the news!

1oth jul: 6am-i'm off to hongkong!!! super hungry once we landed...our FIRST meal was at tang chao(the sweet dynasty). the food was TERRIFIC! pig liver congee, century egg congee, chee cheong fun with fresh crunchy prawns wrapped in it, and a huge, stuffed dumpling!

went to the avenue of stars after lunch...since we were in tsim sha tsui...

and clar tried to kill (dead)bruce lee with his gap slipper...hahahawent to fa yuen street for dinner...and we had soy sauce chicken plus char siew rice and a bowl of delicious hk soup(yum tong!!)...i was too busy eating..so no pics..hahaha...but it was really goood..

the night life outside clar's room...xiao fei niu!!! we never ever got to eat there cos it was terribly fully booked every night! not even a table left....it's a MUST-book place....

9th jul: slacked AGAIN at home...supposed to meet tayapi at 4pm but was too lazy and so we only met at 8 plus..tog with the others(clar, guanda, aston and kelly). just a simple meet-up, dinner at suki sushi and beancurd for dessert...somehow, it was fun...all the lame jokes (esp tayapi's!!!! hahahaha v funny!) and rubbishy talks we had...!

8th jul: church with my sisters and andrew....(and mira who asked if i went to yunnan cos my hair's so long now...funny girl). message by pastor lian was good as usual...she was saying how we should not let any evil msgs get into our minds because by doing so, we are not accepting and will not be vulnerable to any attacks, hence staying strong. I'm glad to be blessed with all the protection by God!

met clar after service and had dinner at some place in citylink...comfy seats..but not when we're eating..hahaha...

7th jul: went to vivo with clar to take a walk...ate a bit at marche cos we felt hungry...didn't do much...then off i went to meet my family at serangoon for dinner w uncle cal at ju bao..followed by durian and police academy 2 at home =)

6th jul: clar's LAST day of work...! he won't have to carry a heavy bag to meet me anymore..haha...and i can choose any day when the sun's still shining to have whatever fun i want...GREAT! we watched at his fav picturehouse again...watched 'The blossoming of Maximo Oliverios'..it was alrite..could have been funnier though.

had dinner at that hawker place(the only one in orchard near centrepoint)...it wasn't dinner according to clar who was 'full'...he said we'll just have finger food since we weren't v hungry...so there it is, fingerfood.......(yea right) we weren't hungry and the food wasn't good...BUT we still finished.
hahahaa...he made me do a stupid maximo gayish pose...while he went to act cool....what can i say, that's CLARENCE GOH.

5th jul....slacked at home...the WHOLE day.....but at least mommy came back to dome me(home-cooked food..dome chicken!)...hahaha....looking forward to an exciting day tmr....give me some fun!!!

4th jul....kboxed with clar!! hahaha....super fun! sang for hours...just the both of us...hahaha...he was so pro that his throat felt weird after hours of professional singing...

3rd jul....hmm...had dinner with clar at crystal jade la mian....

2nd jul....met up with sue and siqi for dinner at my secret garden...followed by dessert at ah qiu's..and it was "ah qiu's" bday!! hahahaha

1st jul....finally got to do some shopping in town...zara sale sucksss!! went to mng, mphosis and forever21 instead.....=)) sun ended off well with a satisfying meal with my family and clar. and i learned sth new....CGI..from andrew. hahaha

30th jun....nicholas tan's bday party at uluuuuuu gardenasia...SUPER uluuuu..but most imptly, he was happy =)

29th jun....supposed to be at east coast cycling with clar...BUT i was down with a flu=(....shall go another day, that's what he said...so instead, we went to the arcade, watched a show, window shopped....blah blah...STILL fun..ahahahaha!

28th jun....kboxed with lovely GIPigs!

it's been a loooong while since i left atl! but i am missing it quite badly and the times we shared back there...time passes sooo quickly! i can't take it!! haha....it seems as though...not tooo long ago, clarence was packing his forever-in-a-mess room while i was driven crazy by separations!!!! sooo crazy that i took wuliao pics like those shown...and soooon, like REALLY soon, the room was empty. i really enjoyed ATL, GLC, GIP! memories will stay......

these are just a part of my memories....i love every bit of gip in atl!

yay! i'm finally enjoying my summer....and exams are done! totally done...i've cleared all my subjects and i'm sooo happy! hahaha.....
summerbreak started off with new york city......then boston....niagara falls...cleveland and now i'm in san franscisco....not many pics to upload cos all pics are in my friends' cam....hahaha....
ANYWAY...i had loads of fun with the gipigs....in the east and i miss all of them sooo much! it was difficult to say goodbye and the sadness i felt was overwhelming....oh well, life goes on i guess....but yes, i'm glad to have my JC friends(sue, kai and xingru) with me together with clarence =)

back for more happening updates! the past weekend was my friends' weekend! haha...i was the creator of that weekend to cheer my dear friend(guanda) up! soo glad that he enjoyed the fun even though he got bitten by fire ants....but still.....good to know that he was happy =)

even with members of friends' weekend...i'll still remember those from THE GANG....

sat was whitewater rafting day...an event org by the sch...it was v exciting and my rafting mates were all fun people....(Jackspyder....kelly....clarence....yiping) Just by looking at the pics you'll know that we enjoyed ourselves to the MAX!

NEXT! was six flags!! superrrr thrilling! the rides were awesome...! my favourite rides -> Goliath & Superman! i've totally no idea how to describe the feeling which i had when i was on those rides....i just know that i had a grrrrrreat time and that i'm amazed by how much i could scream!!! ahahaha.....to hear my screams...go to http://gatech.blogspot.com

tayabonita~~thanks for the above miami pics!!! they're soooo funny ESP the first pic la..my gosh it's madness! just look at our hair, it's the pic of the springbreak la...crazy chem eng girls too stressed until like this...haha....anyway, yes pple...that group of girls are all chem eng students and yeap,this is miami south beach for y'all....it's beautiful...PLUS miami ink was there!! but i didn't get to see them...raymond did! and he took lots of pics with them..im gg to get those pics man....will put up more miami pics if possible......so yes, as can be seen, miami's all abt the BEACH and partying which i didn't go for cos i was too tired....but heard from dylan that it's goood. miami was worth visiting...it's a pity we had too little time there...it really is a place to play, shop, get tanned and just enjoy, have fun.yeah!look out for more miami pics.....got to get them from raymond...bingfeng...yeap! miami....half the springbreak's been covered.......

Springbreak started off at TAMPA...i've no idea where it is exactly...but anyway, the main thing we did at tampa was to go to renaissance festival...over there pple dress up in those costumes of a different era...as y'all will see in the pics...it was..........not v interesting though...hahaha...cos the place was sooo dusty!!! and the weather was soo hot! but oh well, the company (GIPigs) was goood...so shan't complain too much =)
i would say that the most interesting part was when jackson and kelly were fencing....and tryin to burst the balloon on each other's head...they looked like little boys...haha...esp kelly cos he looked so cute in that attired with an orange balloon on his head...haha...check it out....
to end our tampa trip, we went to watch the sunset....rather beautiful just that it was freeeeezing and the wind was so strong...so that's how we started our springbreak...TAMPA

just came back from my loooong springbreak in florida! it was really fun but superrr tiring. only reached back at atlanta at 330am this morning. however, all was worth it. we all had great fun and i'm sure all of us enjoyed ourselves. =)
from tampa to miami to the bahamas to orlando (universal studios!disneyworld!) to jacksonville......
